Who is behind Typiq
Typiq is built and run by Alex Rica through SIBSTIL DOORS SRL, a company based in Sibiu, Romania. There is no editorial team: one person decides what the app does, what the website claims and what the blog publishes, and is responsible for all three.
The app exists because the typing tutors on the market in 2026 were either subscriptions, browser tabs that need an account and an internet connection, or Windows-only. Typiq is a desktop program for Mac, Windows and Linux that works offline, needs no account, tracks nothing and is paid for once.
How the blog is written
The articles are published in ten languages. The rules below apply to every one of them, and a reader who finds them broken can write to the address at the bottom of this page.
- No invented figures: there are no user counts, success rates or study results that cannot be traced to a named source.
- Competitor prices and features come from the competitor's own website at the time of writing, and the article says when they were checked.
- When an article says Typiq lacks a feature, it is because it does. The app has no certificates and no tablet version, and the articles say so.
- No testimonials or review quotes are written for the site. The only review figures shown are the ones on the public Trustpilot profile.
- Errors are corrected in all ten languages when they are found, and the article shows the date it was last revised.
What Typiq is
A touch-typing course of 26 lessons with an on-screen keyboard that shows which finger moves for each key, a Kids Mode with a balloon game, ten interface languages with their keyboard layouts, and a school dashboard in which students sign in with a code instead of a name. A Personal license is a one-time purchase with lifetime updates, and there is a free trial before buying.
